Pre-workshop activities - for ALL participants
There are some activities to help you prepare for the workshop and to help optimise your engagement with the activities planned for the workshop.
So please do take time to first access the linked resources and then think about the questions we have posted and do please add your responses.
This activity should not take you more than 45 minutes to complete.
Thanks so much!
A. The resources to look at in advance of the workshop are as follows (please click the resource name to open):
2. Using feedback to help students to learn - a short article by Professor Phil Race
B. The questions to respond to, are these:
- What makes formative feedback good or effective? You might wish to think about your responses to this in terms of the learner and of the teacher/tutor.
- In reflecting on your current practices in giving feedback to learners, what ways or approaches seem to work well?
- What challenges do you currently face in preparing and/or giving formative feedback to your students?
- After reading the resources linked below, will you please share any comments you have on either the NUS Feedback Charter and/or on Phil Race's short paper? What is the key message you might take from Race's paper into your feedback practice?
Please add your ideas in response to these 4 questions as comments in the linked googledoc (accessed here) - it's a scrolling document by the way ;>)
and ideally in advance of attending the workshop - thank you.
Please also bring examples to share and responses to the Qs to the workshop
